Welcome to the AALPD Communities of Practice (CoP) Wiki!
The AALPD is developing this CoP portal to online tools for building Professional Development Communities of Practice.
As Etienne Wenger explains on his Communities of Practice website, "Communities of practice are formed by people who engage in a process of collective learning in a shared domain of human endeavor: a tribe learning to survive, a band of artists seeking new forms of expression, a group of engineers working on similar problems, a clique of pupils defining their identity in the school, a network of surgeons exploring novel techniques, a gathering of first-time managers helping each other cope.
|

Communities of practice are groups of people "who share a
concern or a passion for something they do and learn
how to do it better as they interact regularly."
|
This portal will provide AALPD members with access to resources such as wikis, discussion boards, file sharing websites, Web and phone conferencing tools and social networking sites. This is an effort from the AALPD to provide members with tools they can begin using now to collaborate on professional development issues important to them, without having to spend hours searching for the right resource. Hey folks:
The AALPD wiki spammed. Someone with admin rights needs to delete user memleket and undo any changes they have made to the site.

More spammers who have authorized accounts have been editing the wiki. I deleted some of the spam but didn't investigate thoroughly.
